How we work:

Knowledge Transfer

The Challenge

One of our clients recently implemented a number of changes to its processes. The future was looking bright for this multi-national company, with many new billion-dollar projects coming down the line. In anticipation of this, management enrolled several of its staff in intensive training for new software, theories and systems. It was a necessary step, but it meant a significant transition period, with many key staff facing a steep learning curve.

Knowing that this development phase would slow down productivity and increase expenses, the company turned to PMC for help. In the short term, they wanted a way to improve their project management system to ensure as smooth a transition as possible. In the long term, they wanted to function independently, and to apply their new knowledge of theories and systems in a way that best suited their global organization.

The Solution

PMC worked closely with the company to create an improved human resource system that would improve project management processes and enable more efficient product delivery. Most importantly, we delivered customized training to ensure that the company could operate the new system independently. Our team provided technical and project management expertise to help get them started, but we ensured that they took ownership of the new system before we stepped aside.

We also introduced a Web-based audio-graphic interface to help train new staff in the future. This interface uses the latest software, and is fully compliant with the company’s training standards. PMC ensured that the interface took into account the diverse cultures, currencies and languages within the company’s international offices.

The Outcome

When the company approached PMC, it was on the brink of an exciting new phase in its development. Now, the company is reaping the rewards of evolution. Its staff is fluent in the latest practices and standards, and is able to function completely independently. Our new human resource system has created a stronger team dynamic and a universal language, allowing for:

  • Improved interdepartmental communication
  • A self-sufficient company

With newfound confidence in its team and abilities, the company is looking to expand and take on bigger and better projects. Because of the new custom Web-based training interface PMC created, management is well equipped to handle future growth.
